Turned from a single piece of cherry, this small bowl sits on a neat turned foot and measures about 12 cm across and 6.5 cm tall. Cherry is one of the loveliest timbers to turn — warm and glowing when it comes off the lathe, and it darkens with light and age to a deep reddish‑brown, so it only gets better.
A natural dark inclusion runs down one side. I could have turned it away, but it’s where the character is, so it stayed — and it’s the reason this bowl is one of a kind. The whole piece is finished with Odie’s Oil, which brings the figure right up and leaves a soft, natural sheen.
Use it for sweets or nuts, potpourri, rings and keys by the door, or simply as a decorative piece on a shelf. It’s food‑safe, but it isn’t a bowl for liquids — a quick guide to looking after it is here.
